Auralex® Acoustics, Inc., a leading brand of acoustical treatments, is collaborating with award-winning studio design firm Carl Tatz Design® on a special seminar session taking place at the AES Academy (concurrent with The NAMM Show) in Anaheim. Auralex’s Robb Wenner (Marketing Manager/Artist Services) and Carl Tatz (award-winning studio designer, educator and inventor of the Phantom Focus™ System) will present “Secrets of Nearfield Monitoring” on Thursday, Jan. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hilton Anaheim’s 4th floor Ballroom A.
Tatz and Wenner will explain and provide solutions that can make improvements to your monitoring system and solve common issues people experience in many different-sized rooms. The two-hour presentation will involve proper room set up, optimized acoustical treatment placement and positioning of near-field monitoring systems utilizing Carl Tatz’s Null Positioning Ensemble™ for Near-field monitoring as well as insight into Tatz’s PhantomFocus System monitor tuning protocol and MixRoom™ design philosophy.
If you have ever asked questions like “Why do I have such a hard time getting the low end right?” or “Why is my center image really weak and panning placement is vague?,” or thought, “I had my control room analyzed and spent quite a bit of money on acoustic treatment with bass traps but I’m still not confident about my mixes,”—then this is a presentation you should attend. A Q&A segment will follow the presentation.
Registration for The NAMM Show and the AES Academy are separate; visit .namm.org/thenammshow/2020/badges and aes.org/events/AESAcademy/academy2020/registration.cfm for more details.
